Database Administrator

The position of Database Administrator will provide architecture, design, tuning and debugging support for mission-critical databases used across multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing database deployments and offer input related to how the existing architecture,infrastructure and design can be performance tuned and otherwise improved.
- Design, implement and administer relational databases to ensure optimal levels of scalability,availability, reliability and performance.
- Design, architect and create databases that meet the objectives and requirements specified inMarketing, Finance and IT documentation.
- Write SQL code to meet functional and technical specifications as provided. Conceive and consistentlydocument database design based upon best in class development techniques and standards.
- Interface with network, software, hardware and system operations teams to ensure that overall systemdesign is optimal and troubleshoot issues related to application/database systems.
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Proven competency in administering large-scale databases such as MySQL, SQL, and Oracle.
- Ability to performance tune databases of large systems.
- Several years of experience administering in large-scale databases, with extensive knowledge of UNIX/Linux Server OS.
- Experience with Windows Server and SQL Server OS.
- The ability to function effectively as part of a team with the ability to lead when called upon.
- Expertise with a variety of web development languages and tools such as PHP, Java, Flash, JavaScript,AJAX, and knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming are a plus.
